iot

Last weekend Rob Tiffany announced a fun but just as usefully 50 enterprise mobility tips twitter live stream. If you’re doubting how to address Enterprise Mobility in your company, these 50 pointers should give you a good start to feel comfortable and start embrace Enterprise Mobility.

I’ve tried hard to create my favorite top 5 Enterprise Mobility tips – but I didn’t make it…

  1. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 26/ Create a #mobile center of excellence to define governance & a matrix of supported devices.
  2. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 27/ If you don’t have an #EMM solution, start w/ Exchange Active Sync to enforce device policies & #security.
  3. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 32/ Prevent rogue apps from attacking devices, networks & servers via an #EMM solution w/ #app blacklisting.
  4. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 25/ Send #BYOD employees to Internet via separate Wi-Fi network versus giving direct access to internal servers.
  5. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 41/ Your #EMM must keep corporate apps & data separate from personal via containers or #MAM in #BYOD scenarios.
  6. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 33/ Rather than extending your entire network to mobile w/ VPN, publish services via a web gateway or the #cloud.
  7. #EnterpriseMobility2015: 50/ #EMM solutions that deliver conditional access to desired services like email motivates #BYOD users to enroll.

What strikes me about, and perhaps this is just it again not so remarkable is that most of the points are addressed with the Microsoft Enterprise Mobility Suite (EMS).

For those who don’t know Rob, he’s Global Technology Lead, Internet of Things and Enterprise Mobility for Microsoft. His role involves overseeing the architecture, development & deployment of many of the world’s largest mobile and wireless solutions for Fortune 100 companies. Rob is ranked in the Top 10 Internet of Things Influencer. So it seems that he understands when it comes to enterprise mobility and related subjects ;-)
