Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP) 2010 beta beschikbaar voor SCCM 2007 R2

Forefront Endpoint Protection (FEP) 2010 beta is beschikbaar!

Zie onderstaande post
Today the team delivered the anticipated Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 (FEP) public beta to customers. The successor of Forefront Client Security is built on System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2007 R2, allowing customers to use their existing client management infrastructure to deploy and manage endpoint protection. The end result? Customers will save capital costs on roll-out and also reduce training costs because administrators won’t have to learn yet another management user interface. FEP supports Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 to present. Other new features include:
  • New Antivirus Engine. Highly accurate and efficient threat detection protects against the latest malware and rootkits with low false positive rate.
  • New behavioral threat detection. Protection against “unknown” or “zero day” threats provided through behavior monitoring, emulation, and dynamic translation.
  • Windows Firewall management. Ensures Windows Firewall is active and working properly on all endpoints, and allows administrators to more easily manage firewall protections across the enterprise.
  • Dynamic Cloud Updates. On-demand signature updates from the cloud for suspicious files and previously unknown malware

If you are using System Center currently, customers can download the SCCM 2007 R2 trial to understand the features and functionality that it provides to administrators for FEP trial purposes.

We will announce pricing and licensing at a later date and the final product is on track to be available in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Windows 7 and Office 2010 End User and Enterprise demos with Windows 7 Demo Toolkit

The Windows Demo Toolkit is a collection of resources that makes demoing the Windows® operating system as easy as possible. Created by the Windows Product Marketing team, the Windows Demo Toolkit complements other guidance and marketing materials provided by Microsoft®. Every demo includes all necessary materials, easy-to-follow setup instructions, and demo scripts that are easy to learn and which resonate with customers.

The heart of the Windows Demo Toolkit is the Foundation Suite, a deployment of Windows 7 tailored specifically for use in demonstrations. The Foundation Suite uses Windows Setup to install onto your PC in minutes, and includes must-have software like Microsoft Office 2010 Beta and Windows Live™ Essentials. Windows Demo Toolkit demos leverage and extend the Foundation Suite, making them easier to download and install.

The Windows Demo Toolkit features a growing collection of “click-through” demos—screen capture-based representations of products and scenarios in action. Click-through demos perform well even on PCs with modest specifications, and are a useful alternative to “live” demos, especially those that require complicated environments or additional hardware. In addition, every click-through demo includes a Preview Mode that displays messaging and click-steps to help you get up-to-speed quickly.

The Windows Demo Toolkit takes the work out of building demos so you can focus on making the sale.

FullArmor Announces Worldwide Availability of Data Migration Tool for Microsoft Live@edu

Microsoft and FullArmor Will Offer MailPortal Migrator Tool at No Cost to Live@edu Customers

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–FullArmor, a leader in enterprise policy management, today announced the availability of MailPortal Migrator, which simplifies the migration of on-premise Microsoft Exchange and Google Apps mail to the Microsoft Live@edu communications and collaboration service for educational institutions. FullArmor also announced that Microsoft has licensed MailPortal Migrator, and will make it available for free to Live@edu customers. It will be available for download from Microsoft and FullArmor after Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference.

“With MailPortal Migrator, FullArmor is providing schools around the world a cost effective, efficient way to move from their existing mail and calendaring system to Live@edu”

“With MailPortal Migrator, FullArmor is providing schools around the world a cost effective, efficient way to move from their existing mail and calendaring system to Live@edu,” said Anthony Salcito, Vice President of Worldwide Education for Microsoft. “We are pleased to be able to provide this capability to our Live@edu community so IT administrators can quickly deploy a best of breed communications and collaboration infrastructure so students and teachers can be more productive.”

MailPortal Migrator extracts the data from Outlook PST files as well as Google Apps mailboxes and migrates the mail, calendar and contact information to a Live@edu mailbox. This tool can be used by an end user to migrate their personal mailbox. The scope of the migration is customizable so that the user or administrator can pick and choose which data elements to move. For example, MailPortal Migrator can migrate just mail, calendar, or contacts, or any combination of these three categories.

For education organizations interested in bulk migration, MailPortal Migrator Admin can be purchased directly from FullArmor and its authorized partners. This MailPortal Migrator Admin version was utilized by the Kentucky Department of Education in their process of migrating 700,000 student, teacher, and staff Exchange mailboxes to Live@edu, which was the largest and fastest Exchange to Live@edu migration to date.

“One of our key requirements was to provide local school districts options to address the migration of mail, calendar and contacts from our on-prem Exchange infrastructure to Live@edu. FullArmor’s solution made this possible for us,” said Chuck Austin from the Office of Education Technology of Kentucky. “Our technical team in cooperation with Microsoft Consulting Services and FullArmor did a fantastic job.”

“Educational institutions that want to take advantage of Live@edu face the complicated and time consuming task of migrating mail, calendar, and contact data to the Microsoft cloud platform,” said Rich Farrell CEO for FullArmor. “MailPortal Migrator automates this process and eliminates a major barrier to the adoption of Live@edu. We are pleased to license this to Microsoft to help alleviate this barrier and accelerate adoption.”

Pricing and Availability

MailPortal Migrator will be available for download at no cost from the Microsoft and FullArmor websites beginning July 19, 2010. MailPortal Migrator Admin can be purchased directly from FullArmor and its authorized partners.
